Kristin Fisher joined CNN in July 2021, as CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent. In her role as Space and Defence Correspondent at CNN, she is responsible covering everything from NASA and its recently created Space Force up until commercial space companies, and even the advent and growth in space travel. Kristin was born into the field of space as the daughter and granddaughter of NASA astronauts. In the past five years she's been covering space policy under the Biden and Trump administrations in FOX News. Also, she covered the 2020 presidential campaign and efforts by two administrations to combat the coronavirus. Kristin traveled extensively, both with the president and vice president. She even went on a secret trip to Afghanistan alongside Donald Trump. Before becoming a part of the company in, Kristin spent nearly a decade advancing in local TV news stations in Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she was awarded the Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the Washington, D.C.'s CBS affiliate. Kristin utilized her knowledge in the field to create Field Mouse Films. The firm specialized in making documentary films. It was also a favourite of corporate clients such as Uber, Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin is a Bachelor of Science in Journalism which she obtained from Boston University. She lives in Washington, D.C., along with her family members, including their three-year-old daughter.
